Introducing Sibbo, Finland!
Sibbo (fi. Sipoo) is a medium sized community at the southcoast of Finland close to Helsinki - N 60°19´ E 25° 15´. Despite the short distance to the capital the nature is still rather unspoilt and there are vast areas of forests and small lakes mixed with agricultural countryside. An oasis for people looking for unstressed living conditions.
Facts:
Population: about 16.000 inhabitants.
Total area: 660 km².
Climate: Typical Nordic.
Summer: May-September, very pleasant, long days, short nights, mostly only twilight. Temp. +15°C - +30°C.
Many people spend their summer holidays in Finland. In July it happens that even in the Far North (Lapland) can be the warmest place in Europe.
Winter: November-March. Short days, long nights. Mostly mild, temp. +1°C - -5°C. temporarily down to -25°C.
Some people suffer from the absence of enough daylight and can get different degrees of depression. This is the time when many people try to get away to countries with warmer climate. In fact, some arrange permanent accommodation abroad for several months.
This picture below is my house:
Sibbo-Sipoo is a bilingual community with about 50/50 Finnish and Swedish speaking population. Both languages are understood and spoken by the majority of the inhabitants.
Here you can enjoy a peaceful life close to nature like in my own neighbourhood, see pictures.
